Special Care (I.C.U.)

Our specially trained cardiac personnel provide specialized care and education to cardiac, medical and surgical care clients referred by physicians. Our goal is to help rehabilitate patients to their optimal autonomy.

Visiting Hours
There are no scheduled visiting hours but it's important for the patient and his family to follow some restrictions:
  • One or two visitors at a time, for no more than 10 minutes.
  • During the first 24-48 hours, only the immediate family will be allowed to visit. After this period, other visitors will be permitted, depending on the patient's condition and/or nurses evaluation.
  • One designated member of the family can contact us anytime and report news of patient condition to the other family members.
These rules are made with the patient in mind. Rest is especially important for the first 24-48 hours and it's important for the patient and his family to respect this.
The special care nurses take the patient's condition at heart and trust that the patient and his family will understand and cooperate.

Prior to being discharged from the Special Care Unit, you will receive information on our Cardiac Prevention and Rehabilitation Program.
