Quality and Risk Management

Quality & Risk Management

At HGH we are working towards an integrated Quality & Risk Management program. This means that our organization aims for the highest quality with the lowest risks. This is accomplished through a series of evaluation and communication tools both internally and externally.

We evaluate, on a regular basis the quality of our services so as to ensure that our organization meets and exceeds the goals set by Federal and Provincial governments, Accreditation Canada and ourselves attesting to our commitment to offer quality care and services to our community.

The continuous monitoring of our actual and potential risks inherent in the healthcare field is a major component of an integrated quality and risk program. Internally, we evaluate risk through an occurrence reporting system. This evaluation is used to ensure that our processes are standardized and assist us in eliminating the recurrence of identified risk through process adjustment and continuous quality improvement. Our organization also evaluates potential risk areas to ensure that measures are in place to avoid these potential occurrences from affecting our patients. Externally, patient satisfaction and comments help our organization to improve the services offered to patients and the community thereby ensuring that we are able to meet the needs of our population.
